Avoid the crowds and come for a fun day's shopping in Mechelen! Because shopping in Mechelen is shopping against a beautiful historic and architectural backdrop. The city furthermore offers you a varied range of large chain stores, great boutiques and numerous specialist shops. And all within walking distance! Mechelen has something for everyone: from trendy to classic, from vintage to hypermodern.

Most of the shops are concentrated in the pedestrian triangle Bruul – IJzerenleen – Onze-Lieve-Vrouwestraat and their little side streets. That's also where you'll find a number of well-known chain stores and boutiques, but also shops with nice trinkets.

Shops are usually opened Mondays to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 and sometimes on the special shopping Sundays.
